E&A celebrated their September wedding in a festival-style event in a Wiltshire woodland with a tipi in a field. The groom for this wedding has to be the MOST smiley groom I have ever met. As we were delivering the table flowers he was there putting finishing touches to various things and the smile on his face was beaming from ear to ear the whole time.
Sustainability and using local independent businesses was very important to E&A. I sourced as many locally grown flowers in their colour scheme as possible. Some were grown just 1.6 miles away from their wedding, and all the flowers and foliage used were British-grown.
When E and I first talked about their wedding flowers, she said she wanted them to feel vibrant and festival-like. With a bright and cheerful mix of British-grown flowers with no one colour to dominate, and lots of smaller head flowers. Wild, delicate, natural. Informal, messy, relaxed.
E asked me for a naturally styled wedding bouquet that had a gently rounded shape with a natural garden-gathered outline. The stems were wrapped with hessian.
We decked the tables with a variety of bud vases filled with vibrant flowers. Carefully arranged so the flowers were low enough so that people could see over them to chat with the other guests. And the flowers were all enjoyed by the family after the wedding before the bud vases were returned to me. No single-use plastic was used throughout the wedding flowers.
Flowers from my Flower Patch were perfectly complimented by the flowers used on the cakes which was made by the fabulously talented Britt from The Red Lion Freehouse in East Chisenbury. Britt and I chatted about the types of flowers and colours that we would be using so that they went together seamlessly. The Red Lion also provided the food including fire pit roasted lambs that A’s family had reared. From field to plate, the field the reception was held in is where the lambs had grazed earlier that year.
All of these photos were taken by Steph Brewin a fantastic local wedding photographer who really captured the mood of this woodland party wedding.
After their wedding, this is what E&A had to say: Massive thanks to Sara for the most stunning flowers on our wedding day! Sara took the time to understand what we were after, and she totally delivered on the day and exceeded my expectations! They were perfect, so vibrant and festivally, just as we wanted. And my bouquet was incredible - I got so many compliments!
